Our growing facility in Huntsville, Alabama, is looking for a skilled Material Handler. This position is essential for managing the flow of materials, ensuring efficient operations within our logistics center. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other equipment to move, organize, and stock inventory. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures, logistics, and a rigorous commitment to safety are required. Your role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Receive and accurately track incoming inventory.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and maintain a safe work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE such as safety shoes and vests.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and accuracy checks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics and inventory management systems.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
