We are looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This position is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and meet all required standards. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining accurate shipping records. A commitment to Safety and the proper use of PPE is essential for this role. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in the operational aspects of Logistics .
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping manifests.
- Inspect packages for damage and ensure proper packaging methods are used.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant departments.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and customer service teams.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Follow all Safety procedures to maintain a secure shipping environment.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required for warehouse operations.
- Assist with tasks involving occasional Lifting and movement of packages.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related administrative role in a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including shipping software and MS Office.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Logistics and shipping processes.
- Commitment to workplace Safety .
