Portland, Oregon, is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics department. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, managing stock rotation, and ensuring that all inventory data is up-to-date and precise. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations. You will work closely with warehouse staff and management to implement best practices in inventory control and loss prevention. Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. The ability to work with inventory management software and conduct thorough investigations is key. While this role may not involve constant heavy lifting, the ability to perform occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs may be necessary. Your contribution to efficient logistics and accurate stock levels is vital for our company's success. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Implement and monitor stock rotation strategies (e.g., FIFO).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Track and manage returned goods and damaged inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety regulations.
- Utilize and promote the use of appropriate PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize inventory flow.
- Generate regular inventory reports for management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability for occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
