Our cutting-edge facility in San Francisco, California, is seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our dynamic logistics team. This role is vital for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our warehouse equipment and infrastructure. As a Warehouse Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, and ensuring the safe operation of all warehouse machinery, including forklifts, conveyors, and automated systems. You will conduct safety inspections, implement preventative maintenance schedules, and maintain accurate records of all repairs and servicing. A strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics flow, and industrial safety is essential. This position requires hands-on technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, conveyors, sorters).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the warehouse and equipment.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs.
- Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Operate various warehouse machinery as needed for testing and repair.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE during all tasks.
- Assist in training warehouse staff on the safe operation of equipment.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in warehouse operations and safety.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a relevant trade is highly preferred. Proven experience as a Warehouse Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar role. Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with excellent diagnostic skills. Familiarity with a wide range of warehouse equipment and automated systems. Knowledge of industrial safety standards, including PPE requirements. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment. Effective communication skills and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency.
