We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team in San Jose, California. This role is vital for the efficient flow of materials through our warehouse and distribution center. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to move, store, and retrieve goods. Accurate inventory management and a commitment to a safe work environment are paramount. The ideal candidate will possess excellent operational skills, a keen understanding of warehouse logistics , and a strong dedication to following all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE . This position requires physical stamina for tasks involving frequent and heavy lifting , standing, and operating machinery. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure correct use of all required PPE .
- Inspect equipment for damage and report any maintenance needs.
- Pick and prepare materials for outgoing shipments.
- Perform tasks requiring substantial lifting and physical effort.
- Support the smooth functioning of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler, with forklift operation experience.
- Valid forklift certification required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE .
- Understanding of logistics principles and warehouse operations.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
