Join our rapidly growing logistics team in Raleigh, North Carolina, as a Shipping Clerk. This pivotal role ensures that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, verifying contents, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely dispatch. Attention to detail is critical, as you will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and preventing shipping errors. A strong commitment to safety is essential, requiring the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to all warehouse safety protocols. The ability to manage and move shipments, which may involve lifting, is also a key requirement. As a Shipping Clerk, you are instrumental in the smooth functioning of our supply chain and in providing excellent service to our customers. Responsibilities:
- Verify outgoing shipment contents against orders and shipping documents.
- Prepare shipments for dispatch, including proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Operate shipping software to create shipping labels and track packages.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for quality and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as needed.
- Resolve any shipping-related discrepancies or issues.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a warehouse environment is required.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency with shipping software and inventory management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
