We are seeking a diligent Order Picker for our busy distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. Your efficiency and accuracy directly impact our logistics operations and customer satisfaction. The Order Picker uses scanning devices to locate products, verify quantities, and ensure orders are picked correctly. This position demands a high level of attention to detail, the ability to navigate a large warehouse environment, and physical capability to handle various items. You will work closely with other warehouse team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely order processing. Safety is our top priority; we provide extensive training on safe work practices, proper lifting techniques, and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves significant walking and reaching, and the ability to lift items is essential. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order lists or scanner directives.
- Verify picked items against order requirements to ensure accuracy.
- Use handheld scanners and warehouse technology effectively.
- Maintain organized work areas and assist with maintaining warehouse cleanliness.
- Transport picked items to packing or staging areas.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
- Meet or exceed picking productivity goals.
- Follow all guidelines for the use of PPE.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as an order picker or in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and scanning technology is a plus.
- Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to safe work practices.
- Willingness to wear required PPE.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
