Join our thriving logistics operation as a Material Handler in the vibrant city of San Francisco, California. This role is fundamental to the smooth functioning of our warehouse, involving the movement, organization, and preparation of materials for various stages of the supply chain. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods within the facility, and ensuring materials are stored correctly. A strong emphasis is placed on safety and efficiency, as you will be operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. This position requires physical stamina, the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, and a commitment to upholding our high standards of operational excellence. Understanding the flow of goods within a busy warehouse is key. We are committed to providing a safe working environment, which includes mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to all Safety regulations. The role will involve significant Lifting and requires the ability to operate machinery safely. Your role is vital to our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the warehouse.
- Stack and store materials in designated areas.
- Inspect equipment before and after use.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Contribute to the efficiency of logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 70 lbs).
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including standing, walking, and Lifting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
