The Applications Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle, performance, and strategic direction of enterprise applications that support business operations. This role ensures applications are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives.
The Applications Manager leads a team of developers, analysts, and support personnel while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize application functionality and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, including implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and retirement Lead and mentor a team of application developers, analysts, and support staff Ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability of business-critical applications Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions Oversee application integrations, APIs, and data flows across systems Manage vendors and third-party service providers Establish and enforce application governance, standards, and best practices Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and data protection standards Monitor and report on application performance metrics and KPIs Drive continuous improvement initiatives and modernization efforts Manage budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines Utilize enterprise platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Salesforce where applicable Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred Experience
7 to 10 years of experience in application development, support, or management 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role Experience managing enterprise applications and cross-functional teams Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of application architecture and system integration Experience with enterprise software platforms and cloud-based applications Excellent leadership and team management skills Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Effective communication and stakeholder management skills Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Compensation
Annual Salary Range:
$110,000 to $150,000 USD, depending on experience, industry, and qualification Benefits
