The Senior Application Architect will join our Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform team to design and scale enterprise systems supporting patient-facing Android devices. This role blends application architecture, cloud engineering, and mobile platform integration to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. In this role you will work on mission-critical healthcare technology impacting patient care, build and scale modern cloud-native and mobile platforms and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment. How You Will Make an Impact: Research and propose new technologies; drive new technologies towards implementation and exploitation; develop and prioritize enhancement lists. Design and implement scalable, high-performance application architectures across distributed systems. Develop and support solutions for Android devices and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms. Define technical architecture, system integration patterns, and API design standards. Lead architecture decisions across cloud-native and multi-platform environments. Direct the construction of architecture components (e.g., data architecture, application architecture, technical architecture). Build and maintain systems using AWS, Docker, and microservices architecture. Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance optimization. Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud infrastructure design. Maintain active relationships with stakeholders; Communicate technical standards and gain buy-in from stakeholders; support vendor evaluation and integration. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while following established best practices. Partner with software engineering, product management, DevOps, and external vendors. Lead requirements gathering, technical design sessions, and architecture reviews Mentor engineers and provide guidance on best practices and coding standards. Oversee unit and system testing to ensure compliance with test plans. Support data and information planning; assess current systems and recommend improvements. Integrate with Android Management API and enterprise mobility tools. Support device provisioning, security, and remote management capabilities. Explain how the roadmap maintains and delivers cost effectiveness, business value, and competitiveness. Minimum Requirements: Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 5 years of experience in architecture/design in relevant technology disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences: Strong experience with Kotlin (Android development), Spring Boot (Java microservices), PostgreSQL, AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc., Docker / containerization. Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs Expertise working with business and technical applications across multi-technology platforms. Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills. Demonstrated ability to provide troubleshooting and technical support. Experience conducting technical design and code reviews. Ability to balance technical, analytical, and product considerations in solution design. Exposure to Android Management API, Okta (IAM), Grafana (monitoring / observability); Geocoding API is a bonus. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative problem-solving approach. Experience with telehealth solutions / connected devices (IoT), Android Management API, and mobile applications. Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
