We are hiring a skilled Picker/Packer for our bustling warehouse in Houston, Texas. This role is integral to our logistics chain, focusing on the accurate and efficient fulfillment of customer orders. You will be responsible for selecting specific items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets or scanner information, and then carefully packing them for shipment. Precision, speed, and attention to detail are key to success in this position. You will work in a high-volume environment, contributing to our ability to meet delivery deadlines. A strong commitment to Safety is essential, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to all workplace safety rules. This role involves considerable physical activity, including standing, walking, and significant Lifting. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using handheld scanners or pick lists.
- Verify picked items against order details for accuracy.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers.
- Label packages correctly for shipment.
- Stage packed orders for outbound shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and warehouse area.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and use required PPE.
- Report any issues with inventory or equipment to supervisors.
- Participate in inventory counts as needed.
- Contribute to meeting daily picking and packing targets within our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a picker, packer, or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining quality.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Awareness of warehouse Safety practices and the importance of PPE.
