03/11/2026 This position is hybrid in McLean, VA. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data and Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at Eliassen Group. In this role, you will play a critical part in accelerating the Personal Loans Phase 2 initiative, where your primary focus will be on developing an abstraction layer and ensuring reliable data flows while collaborating with external partners. Your expertise in delivering Python, PySpark, Golang, and AWS-based solutions will be essential as we strive for fast and high-quality outcomes. You'll be responsible for implementing APIs, creating batch data pipelines, and setting up new infrastructure to facilitate seamless future data migrations for our users. Our ideal candidate will leverage AI developer tools to enhance productivity and align with our delivery expectations. Responsibilities: Design and implement an abstraction layer for data sourced externally, ensuring seamless migration in the future. Build and maintain robust APIs and batch data flows to enhance customer experiences and serve downstream consumers. Develop and optimize data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and AWS big data frameworks. Establish and secure backend services as well as cloud infrastructure, primarily utilizing AWS. Deliver software increments rapidly while ensuring thorough testing, monitoring, and documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Personal Loans experiences into our organization. Utilize AI development tools to enhance code quality, speed, and maintainability. Contribute to best practices focusing on data engineering, security, and cost efficiency. Experience Requirements: Senior-level experience in data engineering utilizing Python and PySpark. Hands-on experience with AWS big data tools and services, including EMR. Proficiency in building scalable APIs and batch data pipelines. Strong backend engineering skills with Python or Golang and AWS. Experience in establishing new cloud infrastructure and delivering software swiftly. Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Angular or React is preferred. Experience using AI developer tools like Claude or Windsurf to enhance productivity is preferred. Prior experience in a similar large-scale financial environment is preferred. Eliassen Group values transparency in its recruitment practices.
