Job Description:
SUMMARY
Administersand supports administrative and academic applications across the College.Responsible for the installation, upgrade, maintenance and support of bothadministrative and academic applications, including their respective databaseand server environments. Participates in technical strategic planning sessionsto ensure that the College is well positioned for the future.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Responds to, investigates, and resolves issues reported by end-users for supported applications, the associated backend databases, and all interfaced applications Monitors and optimizes the performance of all associated server environments Maintains database and middleware (Tomcat, Apache, etc.) server software as necessary Maintains the servers (Windows Server, Linux, UNIX, etc.) as necessary Maintains all associated disaster recovery environments Develops and maintains the necessary troubleshooting documentation Cross-trains team members to ensure support continuity Updates associated with application architecture diagrams as changes are made Acts as primary liaison to the associated vendor HelpDesk for issue resolution Applies security patches as necessary Develops and maintains scripts (shell, perl, batch, etc.) as necessary Provides before, after hours, and weekend support to resolve application issues as necessary Recommends the necessary server configurations (disk, memory, etc.) in order to support new applications Installs, upgrades, and configures new middleware server software, database software and applications as necessary Applies software patches and performs major upgrades as necessary Provides before, after hours, and weekend support for migrations and upgrades as necessary Identifies and evaluates new tools and solutions for improved application and server management Performs capacity planning (disk, memory, etc.), as well as short-term and long-term upgrade planning Provides analysis, consultation, and recommendations to project teams, especially as they relate to the associated environment Identifies cross-training and documentation opportunities Performs other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Bachelor's Degree in I.T., Computer Science, or related field Significant related experience may substitute for education Minimum of five years of full-time professional experience in a related field Demonstrated experience with Windows Server (2019, 2022) and various Linux flavors (RedHat, Oracle for Linux, etc.) Demonstrated experience with relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL, etc.) Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situations KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Possess knowledge of Microsoft IIS, including SSL/TLS certificates Possess knowledge of authentication methodologies (Active Directory, LDAP, CAS, etc.) Possess intermediate proficiency with ERP Banner System (or equivalent program) Possess intermediate proficiency with D2L Brightspace (or equivalent program) PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS (The demands described here are representative ofthose that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of this job. The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment. The work area is adequately lit, heated and ventilated. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
Target Starting Salary Range: $65,000 to$70,000 The final offer for the successfulcandidate is targeted to fall within this range, but will be based upon anassessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate'squalifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).

If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
