QA Automation Engineer
will support the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) on the PCS Contract Operations project. This position performs Quality Assurance activities for an application that is part of an initiative to enhance and update the System Contract Operating and Reporting application to create a more robust and comprehensive system for agency contract management, monitoring, and compliance activities. The QA Automation Engineer is part of the Administrative Applications Software Quality Assurance team and is responsible for developing and maintaining automated test cases and test scripts for both manual and automated testing. This role relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain automated test cases using Playwright or similar technology. Develop and maintain test scripts for both manual and automated testing. Perform manual testing as required. Track test case execution and establish regular automated schedules for test cases and required reporting. Use Jira to log and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle. Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices. Support the development team across dev, test, UAT, and production environments, and troubleshoot test cases as required. Lead UAT testing activities as needed. Design documentation for automated processes. Determine priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement those scenarios. Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
10 years of experience in manual test script execution. 8 years of experience in automated QA testing. 8 years of experience in QA test script creation. 8 years of experience in performance testing. Preferred Qualifications
5 years of experience in QA Automated Test Case Reporting. 5 years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, Playwright, WebdriverIO, or JMeter. 3 years of experience in Agile, Scrum, Jira, XRay, or Zephyr. 3 years of experience in accessibility testing. Additional Requirements
May be required to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as requested by HHSC. Candidates must currently live within 50 miles of the Austin, Texas area; this position is open to local candidates only.

Location: 701 W 51st Street, Austin, TX 78751
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - On Site and Telework
