Hybrid: This role requires working at our Warren, MI office a minimum of three times per week. About the Role Join the GM Digital Products Engineering team and play a key role in revolutionizing our billing platform. We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who will spearhead Zuora integration, design scalable batch processing systems, and enhance the onboarding experience for millions of OnStar customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cloud-native solutions on Azure and leverage modern frameworks and event-driven architectures. What You'll Do Lead the design and development of innovative features for the billing platform and manage Zuora integration.
Architect resilient batch processing systems to handle high-volume financial transactions effectively.
Enhance onboarding flows for OnStar customers to create seamless and enjoyable experiences.
Drive the migration of services to Azure, utilizing cloud-native best practices for optimization.
Build microservices and event-driven architectures using Kafka to improve system performance.
Collaborate with product, business, and engineering teams to deliver scalable and effective solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code across both front-end and back-end components.
Mentor junior developers and advocate for engineering best practices within the team.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in full-stack development and enterprise integrations (experience with Zuora is a plus).
Strong experience with batch processing and financial systems.
Hands-on expertise in Azure migration and cloud architecture.
Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React/Angular.
Experience with microservices, Kafka, and both relational and NoSQL databases.
Solid understanding of testing frameworks (JUnit, Jest, Cypress).
Preferred Qualifications Experience with Shopify is highly preferred.
Previous work with billing systems or financial applications.
Familiarity with Liquid or Hydrogen frameworks.
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
