Position Summary The Systems Administrator – Infrastructure & End User Operations is a hands-on technical role responsible for maintaining and improving Opportune’s core systems, Microsoft cloud environment (M365/Azure), endpoint management, and SaaS applications while supporting day-to-day end-user operations. This role combines infrastructure ownership with operational support. Approximately 25% of time will focus on escalated support and endpoint operations, with the remaining time dedicated to system administration, automation, standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is technically strong, service-oriented, and motivated to reduce repetitive work through automation and process improvement. This position reports to the IT Director and works closely with the IT Analyst. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Systems Administration Administer and optimize Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, and related services. Own endpoint management strategy, including device configuration, compliance policies, patching, and lifecycle management. Maintain and monitor virtualized infrastructure (VMware or similar), backups, and disaster recovery processes. Manage identity, access controls, MFA, conditional access, and least-privilege practices. Support and administer core SaaS platforms including Box Enterprise and other business-critical applications. Partner with outsourced vendors (e.g., network, firewall, SOC) to ensure effective collaboration and issue resolution. Maintain accurate system documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards. End User Operations & Escalation Support Serve as Tier 2/3 escalation for technical issues. Support imaging, provisioning, and deployment of laptops and mobile devices. Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accuracy, security, and timeliness. Identify recurring support issues and implement long-term fixes. Assist with AV systems, conference room technology, and office infrastructure as needed. Automation & Process Improvement Identify repetitive manual tasks and design automation solutions (PowerShell preferred). Improve imaging, onboarding/offboarding, and device management workflows. Develop standards for configuration, documentation, and change management. Drive initiatives that reduce ticket volume and improve service efficiency. Contribute to long-term infrastructure roadmap planning. Governance & Security Collaboration Support vulnerability remediation and patch compliance efforts. Assist with audit readiness and documentation (SOC2 or similar frameworks). Participate in incident response coordination when required. Qualifications Required 3–6+ years of experience in systems administration or hybrid infrastructure/support role. Strong experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure administration. Experience managing endpoint environments (Intune or similar). Working knowledge of virtualization platforms and backup solutions. Experience supporting end users in a professional services or corporate environment. Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell strongly preferred). Strong documentation and process orientation. Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills. Preferred Experience with Box Enterprise administration. Familiarity with SOC, cybersecurity best practices, and compliance frameworks.
