Job Summary:
Come be a part of our dynamic team as a Shipping Clerk in Durham, North Carolina! This role is central to our Logistics operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring packages are correctly labeled and staged for pickup. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication skills. You will work closely with warehouse staff and external partners to maintain a smooth flow of goods. This position is critical for customer satisfaction, as timely and accurate shipments are paramount. We foster a workplace that emphasizes Safety and provides the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to all employees. While this role is primarily administrative, you may occasionally assist with tasks that involve some Lifting or moving of packages. A solid understanding of shipping procedures and Logistics is highly beneficial. Your commitment to accuracy and adherence to Safety protocols will be key to your success in this role. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare shipping labels, documentation, and manifests.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
  • Verify order accuracy against shipping documents.
  • Ensure all packages are properly labeled, sealed, and secured for transit.
  • Track shipments and provide status updates to relevant parties.
  • Maintain organized shipping records and logs.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel to ensure timely processing of outgoing orders.
  • Adhere to all Safety guidelines and ensure proper use of PPE.
  • Support the smooth functioning of our Logistics department.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, especially shipping software and MS Office.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with shipping procedures and Logistics.
  • Awareness of Safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of packages up to 25 lbs.
