We are seeking a dedicated Picker/Packer to join our bustling logistics center in Chicago, Illinois. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from inventory and meticulously preparing them for shipment. Your key responsibilities will include reading order details, efficiently locating products within the warehouse, picking the correct items, and securely packaging them to ensure they arrive at their destination in perfect condition. This position is fundamental to our supply chain operations, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment for our valued customers. Our company places the highest emphasis on safety, and all team members are required to strictly adhere to safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The role involves active physical work, including frequent lifting of items up to 40 lbs, so a good level of physical fitness is necessary. You will be an integral part of our dedicated warehouse team, working collaboratively to meet and exceed daily operational goals. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from designated warehouse locations according to order forms or electronic pick lists.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure the accuracy of each order.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and carefully pack items to prevent damage during transit.
- Apply correct shipping labels and documentation to packages.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory counts by reporting any discrepancies found during picking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station and surrounding area.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand scanners safely.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production targets.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned to support overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Previous warehouse or picking/packing experience is a plus.
- Understanding of logistics and warehouse safety practices.
