Our St. Louis, Missouri distribution center is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse inventory. This role is essential for optimizing stock levels, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring efficient operations within our logistics network. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for implementing and monitoring inventory control procedures, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movement. A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving are crucial for success in this position. We are committed to providing a safe and productive work environment, emphasizing the importance of proper PPE and adherence to all Safety guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and refine inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, potential shortages, or overstock situations.
- Utilize WMS to accurately record inventory movements, receipts, and shipments.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements to optimize stock levels.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely receipt and dispatch of goods.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of inventory, adhering to FIFO principles where applicable.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns, ensuring compliance with all Safety regulations.
- Proper use of required PPE at all times.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting as required.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using WMS software and other inventory management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and Logistics principles.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Familiarity with Safety best practices and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate Lifting, up to 30 lbs.
