In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement and management of materials within our distribution center. Your duties will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management is crucial. We prioritize the safety of our employees, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE, is non-negotiable. This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting items up to 60 lbs, and operating machinery safely. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders for accuracy and damage.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory in designated locations.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of required PPE.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Support inventory control through accurate tracking and record-keeping.
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Valid forklift certification is a strong asset.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and logistics operations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
