We are seeking a diligent Distribution Center Associate to join our team in Washington, D.C. This role is fundamental to the success of our distribution operations, involving a wide range of warehouse activities to ensure the efficient movement and storage of goods. You will be responsible for tasks such as receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping, all while adhering to strict safety standards and operational procedures. Your contribution will directly impact our ability to meet customer demands and maintain a high level of service within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders.
- Stock merchandise accurately in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and pack orders for shipment with speed and precision.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling and staging for carrier pickup.
- Operate various warehouse equipment, such as forklifts (if certified) and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment according to established guidelines.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in inventory control activities, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Handle materials, which may involve significant lifting, using proper techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and support the overall logistics chain.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and reliable individual with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles. Experience with material handling equipment is a plus. The ability to perform physical tasks, including consistent lifting and standing for extended periods, is a requirement.
