We have an opening for a detail-oriented Inventory Clerk in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, which is foundational to our entire logistics operation. You will be responsible for conducting regular physical counts of inventory, reconciling discrepancies between physical stock and system records, and investigating any stock variances. Your duties will also include organizing inventory storage locations, ensuring proper labeling, and assisting with the receiving and put-away processes as needed. A commitment to accuracy and efficiency is essential, as is adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform tasks that may involve some lifting. Your work directly impacts our logistics planning and operational efficiency. We are seeking a proactive individual who can help us maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize losses.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes.
- Update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Organize and maintain the physical layout of inventory.
- Ensure all inventory items are properly tagged and labeled.
- Assist with receiving and put-away processes to maintain stock accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels and report any potential shortages or overages.
- Identify and report damaged or expired inventory.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate inventory flow.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in inventory control or a similar role. Familiarity with WMS or other inventory management software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to perform tasks requiring some physical exertion and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs. Good organizational skills. Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
