Join our thriving logistics operation as a Material Handler in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This vital role involves the movement of materials throughout our distribution center, ensuring a smooth flow of goods and supporting our overall supply chain efficiency. You will be responsible for operating various material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials between different areas of the warehouse, and ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety are paramount, as you will be working closely with heavy equipment and large quantities of goods. You must be proficient in following instructions and adhering to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role requires physical stamina for frequent lifting and moving of items, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Your contribution is essential to our daily logistics operations, ensuring that our products reach their destinations on time and in perfect condition. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials within the warehouse and to designated areas.
- Organize and stack materials to optimize space and ensure stability.
- Perform regular checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and use required PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as needed.
- Contribute to efficient logistics and warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar role. Certification to operate specific equipment may be required. Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs. Excellent understanding of warehouse safety practices. Proficiency in using various lifting and moving tools. Must wear appropriate PPE.
