We are looking for a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Austin, Texas. As a vital member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move inventory within our facility. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of goods, ensuring accurate put-away and retrieval of products, and supporting overall warehouse productivity. Your commitment to safety and operational excellence is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items throughout the warehouse.
- Accurately place inventory in designated storage locations and retrieve items for order fulfillment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and pathways are clear.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations as needed.
- Participate in inventory counts and help maintain inventory accuracy.
- Ensure proper use of PPE at all times and promote a safety-first culture.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to supervision.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and material handling best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require physical coordination.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory flow.
- Excellent situational awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety guidelines and using necessary PPE.
