Our Grand Rapids, Michigan location is looking for a skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory throughout the supply chain. Your duties will include managing inventory systems, conducting regular audits, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce losses. This position demands exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of inventory control procedures within a logistics environment. You will collaborate closely with warehouse management and operations staff to maintain efficient stock management. A strong commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to company policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is crucial. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of inventory control within the warehouse.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.
- Analyze inventory data, identify trends, and investigate discrepancies.
- Implement corrective actions to resolve inventory accuracy issues.
- Manage and maintain the warehouse management system (WMS) for inventory-related functions.
- Develop and refine inventory control procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Monitor stock rotation and expiration dates to minimize waste.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items to maintain quality.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Generate detailed inventory reports for management and collaborate on stock level optimization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or management within a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Proficiency with WMS software and advanced skills in MS Excel are required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, Safety best practices, and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
