Become a key player in our distribution network as a Picker/Packer in Indianapolis, Indiana! We are seeking motivated individuals to accurately assemble and prepare customer orders for shipment. Your primary responsibilities will include using RF scanners or pick lists to locate and retrieve items from warehouse shelves, carefully inspecting items for accuracy and quality, and then packing them securely and efficiently. Success in this role hinges on precision, speed, and a strong commitment to Safety. You will be part of a busy logistics operation, contributing directly to customer satisfaction. This position requires the ability to work on your feet for extended periods, perform frequent Lifting, and maintain focus in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items according to order specifications using handheld scanners or pick sheets.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure correctness.
- Package products safely and efficiently, using appropriate materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Label all outgoing shipments accurately.
- Stage completed orders for pickup by shipping carriers.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as directed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, adhering to 5S principles.
- Follow all company Safety policies and procedures, including correct use of PPE and safe Lifting practices.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet productivity targets.
- Report any operational issues or inventory discrepancies to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in a warehouse setting, especially as a picker/packer, is advantageous.
- Ability to work with speed and accuracy in a high-volume environment.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive Lifting throughout the shift.
- Basic understanding of inventory control and logistics.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Must be safety-conscious and comply with all PPE requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Dependable with excellent attendance.
