Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual looking for a rewarding career in logistics? We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Clerk in sunny Jacksonville, Florida. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely dispatch of outgoing shipments. Your duties will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, ensuring packages are properly labeled and secured, and maintaining shipping records. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will work closely with the warehouse team to ensure that all outbound orders meet our high standards for quality and timeliness. Safety is a top priority in our operations; therefore, adherence to all Safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential. This role may involve some Lifting and requires physical capability. Become a key player in our efficient shipping operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation accurately (e.g., bills of lading, shipping labels, manifests).
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify that outgoing shipments match customer orders and packing lists.
- Ensure all packages are properly sealed, labeled, and secured for transit.
- Maintain organized and accurate shipping records.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipping status.
- Operate shipping software and equipment (e.g., scales, printers).
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including some Lifting.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency with shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and Safety best practices, including PPE.
- Physical ability to perform tasks, including occasional Lifting.
