We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our Des Moines, Iowa warehouse! This position is integral to our logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to transport materials, load and unload trailers, and stack products. Your adherence to safety protocols, precision in handling inventory, and ability to maintain a productive workflow are paramount. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered equipment safely and efficiently to move inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, railcars, and containers.
- Stack and organize products in warehouse racking systems and designated areas.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and related equipment, reporting any defects.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring a secure working environment.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counting and put-away.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, including work areas and aisles.
- Support overall logistics operations as directed by warehouse management.
Qualifications:
- Certified forklift operator with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is essential.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices in logistics.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety directives.
