Our distribution center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, directly impacting our logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for overseeing inventory levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing improvements to our inventory management processes. This position requires a sharp mind, meticulous attention to detail, and a solid understanding of warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce stockouts.
- Monitor inventory levels and provide reports on stock status.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to prevent damage and obsolescence.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to improve material flow.
- Enforce safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE, within inventory areas.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks, up to 40 lbs, during physical inventory checks.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our logistics and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or logistics.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of inventory control techniques and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
