We are hiring a Receiving Clerk for our facility in Richmond, Virginia! Join our logistics team and play a key role in managing the incoming flow of goods. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for unloading shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately entering data into our inventory system. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. You will work closely with warehouse staff to ensure smooth transitions of goods into our inventory. Maintaining a safe working environment is crucial; adherence to all Safety regulations and the use of appropriate PPE are mandatory. The position involves physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 40 pounds, and standing for extended periods. Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying quantities and product details against documentation.
- Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies upon arrival.
- Unload delivery trucks using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks).
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Label and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Communicate any receiving issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required PPE consistently.
- Perform duties involving moderate Lifting and physical exertion.
- Support overall logistics operations by ensuring timely and accurate receiving.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in warehouse receiving or data entry is preferred.
- Proficiency with computers and basic data entry skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with logistics processes is a plus.
- Commitment to following Safety guidelines and wearing PPE.
