We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to manage the inflow of goods at our Orlando, Florida distribution facility. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and organizing all incoming inventory. Your efficiency and accuracy are paramount to maintaining our inventory integrity and ensuring smooth downstream operations within our logistics network. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, meticulous record-keeping, and a commitment to Safety protocols. You will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, setting the tone for the accuracy of our entire supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, checking for discrepancies in quantity and quality.
- Inspect goods for damage or defects and document any issues accordingly.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Tag and label incoming merchandise for proper identification and storage.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area, adhering to all Safety standards.
- Collaborate with inventory control, shipping, and purchasing departments to resolve receiving issues.
- Ensure all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn during all receiving operations.
- Assist with Lifting and moving of received goods as necessary, following proper techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or a similar role preferred.
- Proficiency with computers and data entry; experience with WMS software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to read and understand purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse logistics and inventory management.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to upholding workplace Safety regulations.
