Who We Are Looking for and What You Will Do as a USANA Business Intelligence Manager
We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Manager to lead our Business Intelligence Analysts (BI III and below) and Product Owners within the USANA Data team. This role provides mentorship, technical guidance, and hands-on development, particularly across the full Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse)-while serving as the team's technical expert in Tableau. The Business Intelligence Manager ensures the high-quality delivery of enterprise reporting, dashboards, and analytics; fosters a product-minded, agile approach; and aligns BI outputs with business goals. This role also interfaces with business stakeholders, Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, IT, and governance to advance USANA's self-service BI and AI enablement strategy while growing the team's skills and effectiveness. Lead and develop BI Analysts and Product Owners through coaching, technical reviews, and career development, while fostering a collaborative, product-focused team environment Champion agile practices by supporting backlog prioritization, participating in key Scrum ceremonies, and ensuring work is properly scoped, vetted, and aligned with business value Serve as the technical authority for BI solutions, establishing standards for data visualization, semantic modeling, performance, and governance, and guiding tool selection between Tableau and Power BI Contribute to BI and Power Platform roadmaps, driving capability planning, innovation, and the adoption of best practices across reporting and analytics solutions Design, build, and maintain enterprise BI assets, including dashboards, datasets, and automated workflows using Power Platform tools and other technologies (e.g., Python), ensuring scalability and efficiency Partner cross-functionally with Data Engineering, IT, governance, and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, security, and alignment, while translating business needs into actionable requirements and solutions What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, data visualization, and dashboard/report development 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing in Tableau (workbooks, data sources, performance tuning, governance); recognized as a Tableau technical expert 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform: Power BI (semantic models, DAX, reports, dashboards), and experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and/or Dataverse 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing technical staff (e.g., BI analysts, developers, or product owners) Strong SQL and understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT Experience building or enabling curated datasets for Copilot or other AI/ML consumers is a plus Experience operating in Agile/Scrum environments and working with Product Owners or product management 2+ years of experience in IT audit, internal audit, or related field Experience with SOX compliance and ITGC testing Familiarity with systems such as ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle) What Will Make You Standout
Experience with Python for automation, data transformation, or API integration Tableau Desktop/Server certification or equivalent demonstrated expertise Microsoft Power Platform (e.g., PL-300, PL-400, PL-500) or related certifications Experience defining BI/Power Platform standards, governance, or center of excellence practices *Position is in-office located in Salt Lake City.
