About the Roles
PK Education are currently working with two secondary schools across South Yorkshire who are seeking Design & Technology Teachers to join them on a full-time basis from Easter until May half term. One role is based in Rotherham and the other in Sheffield, both offering an excellent opportunity to join supportive departments on a short-term basis.
These positions are ideal for teachers looking for flexible short-term work, or those between roles who are keen to remain in the classroom.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Depending on your specialism, this may include areas such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, or general DT. You will ensure students remain engaged, safe, and making progress throughout the placement.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons across KS3 and KS4. Maintaining a safe and organised workshop/classroom environment. Managing behaviour effectively in line with school policies. Supporting students in developing practical skills and subject knowledge. Assessing and providing feedback where required.
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience. Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. A flexible and adaptable approach. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
