Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people? LCS is on the lookout for committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work full-time (35 hours per week) plus sleep-in shifts, with the potential to earn up to £27,983.80 !

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping young people transition towards independence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing practical support and guidance in line with individual care plans.
  • Engaging, motivating, and encouraging young people in their individual flats or shared houses.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with young people, staff, and professionals through effective communication.
  • Supporting young people in Education, Employment, and Training, ensuring they achieve their accredited learning qualifications.
  • Building community links with educational provisions, sports centers, and youth clubs.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Flexibility in your availability for shift work, including sleep-in nights, evenings, and weekends.
  • A Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma , Children and Young People's Workforce , or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or be willing to study towards it).
  • Experience working with attachment and trauma (desirable).
  • Experience with challenging behavior and/or mental health issues (desirable).
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable), though good public transport links are available.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions

This role involves working on a rota basis, which may include evenings and weekends. Your flexibility will be key to providing the best support for our young people.
