We are seeking a diligent and experienced Material Handler to join our bustling New York City logistics center. As a Material Handler, you will play a vital role in the efficient movement of goods throughout our facility. Your responsibilities will include receiving, stocking, and distributing materials, ensuring that inventory is accurate and accessible. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming materials and verify against shipping documents.
- Unload trucks and assist with staging materials for put-away.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas using appropriate equipment.
- Replenish stock in picking locations as needed.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Proper use and care of PPE are mandatory.
- Assist with shipping preparations as required.
Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control practices. Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds regularly. A strong focus on safety and adherence to all logistics procedures is essential. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Must be reliable and punctual.
