We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk for our Columbus, Ohio warehouse. This role is essential for managing the influx of goods into our facility, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all receiving processes. You will be responsible for inspecting incoming shipments, verifying contents against documentation, and properly logging inventory. This position plays a vital part in our overall Logistics and inventory management system. Safety is a top priority; all employees must strictly adhere to all Safety guidelines and utilize the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The role involves regular physical activity, including tasks that require moderate Lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Accept and unload incoming shipments, verifying the quantity and quality of goods.
- Inspect packages for any damage or discrepancies before signing for them.
- Cross-reference received items with purchase orders and packing lists, reporting any variances.
- Accurately record received inventory into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Label and stage received products for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, ensuring clear pathways.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams regarding receiving-related issues.
- Follow all company Safety policies and procedures diligently.
- Ensure the proper use and availability of necessary PPE.
- Perform tasks involving the manual Lifting and handling of received goods.
- Support broader Logistics and inventory control efforts as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a receiving, inventory, or warehouse setting is beneficial.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with inventory software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety standards.
- Must be able to perform regular Lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Familiarity with Logistics operations.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to wear and use required PPE.
