We are seeking a meticulous and diligent Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse in Miami, Florida. This role is critical for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all incoming shipments. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for inspecting, counting, and verifying inventory against purchase orders and other shipping documents. Your work directly impacts the efficiency of our Logistics operations and inventory accuracy. Safety is a paramount concern, and adherence to all established Safety procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is required. The role involves regular manual handling and requires the ability to perform moderate Lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage, discrepancies, or defects, noting any issues.
- Verify incoming merchandise against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
- Accurately count and record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received goods appropriately.
- Route received items to the correct storage locations or departments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding discrepancies or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
- Perform tasks involving the organized Lifting and movement of received goods.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support Logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a receiving clerk, inventory clerk, or in a warehouse role.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of Safety best practices in a warehouse setting.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring regular Lifting of up to 35 pounds.
- Familiarity with basic Logistics principles related to receiving.
- Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
