We are seeking a skilled and reliable Material Handler for our warehouse in Madison, Wisconsin. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement and storage of materials within the facility. Your ability to operate material handling equipment and follow safety procedures is paramount to our logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and organize inventory.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment issues promptly.
- Support receiving and shipping departments as needed to ensure a seamless logistics flow.
- This role requires consistent physical exertion, including frequent Lifting of items up to 60 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent Lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems is a plus.
