We are seeking a diligent and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of all deliveries. Your role is critical in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting the smooth flow of operations within the warehouse. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming products for any damage or discrepancies and report them immediately.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Stage received goods for further processing by other departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal staff.
- This role involves frequent Lifting of packages up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
- Familiarity with WMS software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of general warehouse safety procedures.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including consistent Lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE as required.
