We are looking for a reliable and efficient Receiving Clerk to manage inbound logistics at our New York City, New York facility. This role is critical to ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately received, inspected, and processed into our inventory system. You will be responsible for verifying deliveries against purchase orders, documenting any discrepancies, and ensuring that products are stored appropriately to maintain quality and accessibility. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining organized records are essential for success in this position. Your role directly impacts the efficiency of our entire supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and unpack incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the contents of deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report findings.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Label and stage received goods for distribution or storage.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly receiving area.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits as needed.
- Follow all company Safety procedures and guidelines.
- Use appropriate PPE , including gloves and safety shoes.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments regarding receiving activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory system use.
- Ability to perform moderate physical work, including Lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Familiarity with Logistics processes and documentation.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
