We are hiring a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our bustling Los Angeles, California operations. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing, processing, and documenting outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently. This role is integral to our logistics network, ensuring that products reach our customers on time and in perfect condition. You will work closely with warehouse staff and carriers to manage the shipping process from start to finish. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy are essential for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other required documentation.
- Verify the contents of outgoing shipments against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Package products securely for transit, utilizing appropriate materials to prevent damage, considering potential lifting of packages.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain organized shipping areas and ensure all outgoing orders are processed within deadlines.
- Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding shipping status and potential delays.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as pallet jacks and box sealers, safely.
- Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required in the warehouse environment.
- Support the overall logistics operations by ensuring timely and accurate dispatch of goods.
The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and receiving, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in using shipping software. Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes, along with a focus on safety, particularly in handling and preparing goods for transport, is important. This role may involve moderate lifting.
