Are you an experienced professional with a keen eye for detail? We have an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Control Specialist at our Detroit, Michigan facility. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy of our inventory levels, ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will play a pivotal part in minimizing discrepancies, optimizing stock rotation, and contributing to overall warehouse productivity. This position requires a proactive approach and a deep understanding of inventory management best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure data accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and effectively.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and systems.
- Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving items, and recommend actions to management.
- Track and manage the movement of inventory within the warehouse, including receipts, transfers, and shipments.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to maximize space utilization and minimize damage.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and other departments to reconcile inventory records.
- Generate reports on inventory status, accuracy, and discrepancies.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE, and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Assist in the training of new staff on inventory control procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control techniques and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform tasks that require moderate physical activity.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
