Our busy logistics facility in Miami, Florida is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outbound shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched on time. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong understanding of warehouse operations. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, verifying shipment contents against orders, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. This position requires adherence to strict safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with internal departments and external partners. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is a must. This role involves significant lifting and requires a candidate who is comfortable performing these duties safely. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outbound shipping documentation, including bills of lading and packing lists.
- Verify accuracy of items being shipped against customer orders.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain organized and accurate shipping logs and inventory records.
- Communicate with customer service and sales teams regarding shipment status.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company policies and regulations.
- Operate warehouse equipment as needed for shipping operations.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
