Our St. Louis, Missouri facility is seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our dedicated logistics team. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in managing the flow of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will encompass operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, unload, and store inventory. This role demands a strong focus on efficiency, accuracy, and most importantly, Safety. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring materials are processed correctly and transported to their designated locations. The ability to perform tasks involving significant Lifting and maneuvering of materials is essential. We foster a culture of safety and require all employees to strictly adhere to guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload delivery trucks, verifying contents against shipping documents.
- Transport materials from receiving areas to storage locations and to order fulfillment zones.
- Conduct daily pre-operational checks on all assigned equipment.
- Stack and store materials in appropriate locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Uphold all company Safety standards and protocols, including the consistent use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent accidents.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material flow.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions focused on operational efficiency and Safety best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is required.
- Valid forklift certification preferred.
- Physical ability to perform frequent Lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of heavy items.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Demonstrated commitment to Safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required.
