We are seeking a dedicated and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of incoming goods, ensuring that all inventory is received, inspected, and properly documented. Your attention to detail will be paramount in maintaining the integrity of our warehouse operations. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to shipments. Adherence to all safety protocols is a must, as the well-being of our team is our top priority. This role offers a great opportunity to grow within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks, verifying the accuracy of delivery against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies, and report any issues promptly.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Stage received goods for put-away or direct distribution.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and transport providers to schedule deliveries and resolve issues.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment safely to move merchandise.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and handling of materials.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Familiarity with WMS or inventory management software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including regular Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to following all Safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
