We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. In this essential role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within our warehouse. You will ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods, contributing to the overall productivity of our distribution center. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-conscious, and possesses a valid forklift certification. This position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining a secure work environment. We provide ongoing training and ensure all necessary PPE is available. While forklift operation is the primary focus, you may also be involved in other warehouse duties as needed. This role involves frequent lifting, standing, and maneuvering in a busy warehouse setting. Your role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring materials are correctly positioned for shipping and receiving. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Move, stack, and organize inventory within the warehouse.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of forklift equipment.
- Assist with order picking, packing, and shipping as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Properly use all required PPE.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to wearing and using all required PPE.
