We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our dynamic logistics team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of goods into and out of our distribution center. You will be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and preparing outgoing shipments for delivery. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will be a key player in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting overall warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving setting and a commitment to safety. We provide comprehensive training on our systems and procedures, as well as the necessary PPE to ensure a safe working environment. Your daily tasks will involve operating pallet jacks and potentially forklifts, though forklift certification is not always required. This role involves significant lifting and moving of packages, so physical stamina is important. We emphasize a strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all company policies and industry best practices in logistics. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming freight.
- Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Accurately document and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments according to order specifications.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use required PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including significant lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following procedures.
