We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all incoming shipments, ensuring that all goods are accounted for and stored properly. This role is critical to maintaining the flow of inventory within our warehouse operations. You will work closely with suppliers, transportation providers, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise during the receiving process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks, verify shipping documents against received goods, and inspect for damage.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged items to the appropriate personnel.
- Organize and stage received goods for efficient put-away into warehouse storage locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and security.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and Lifting for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
