Are you detail-oriented and passionate about maintaining accurate inventory? Our Grand Rapids, Michigan location is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team. This critical role ensures the integrity of our stock levels, which is vital for efficient warehouse operations and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for conducting regular inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, managing stock rotation, and implementing procedures to minimize loss and improve accuracy. Your analytical skills and commitment to precision will be key to success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS (Warehouse Management System).
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures, including FIFO/LIFO as applicable.
- Manage stock rotation to minimize obsolescence and spoilage.
- Track and report on key inventory metrics, such as accuracy rates and stock levels.
- Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency with WMS software and other inventory management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 pounds, as needed.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of supply chain and logistics principles.
- Must adhere to all safety standards and wear required PPE.
