Our Denver, Colorado distribution center is seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics operations. This role is vital for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for managing stock levels, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to improve inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mind, a passion for organization, and a commitment to upholding high standards of warehouse management and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock accuracy.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and manage inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and loss.
- Monitor stock levels and generate reports on inventory status, turns, and aging.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborate with warehouse staff, purchasing, and sales departments to resolve inventory issues.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all warehouse activities.
- Assist in training new staff on inventory control procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar warehouse inventory role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in a warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety best practices and the importance of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
